Prepping the rice field, a set on Flickr.

The preparations for the dry season of 2012 began in December 2011.

In this photo set, Kuya Jun, Kuya Ferdie, and Roldan (plus field workers) are shown doing the field prep by marking the spots where the levees would be put. I was calling out the measurements based on my computations; I had to be on-hand just in case they needed me to make last-minute changes in the field lay-out.

As the field was being prepared, rice to be planted in the field have already been grown in seedbeds. In a few more days, these plants would be transplanted in the prepped field.
