Kuya Rico and the fam in CA!
Kuya Rico and his family popped into our side of the USA for a short vacation. Since Anna has newly moved to California, it's her first time to see Kuya Rico in 27 years. Imagine that! Charlene and the kids were able to visit Lola Bats on her 100th birthday so we were able to spend time with them already then. The visit was made even more special because Gabriel's already here and he was able to meet his cousins (though I doubt that he'll remember this encounter because he's still so young).
All the California-based cousins gathered for a weekend brunch that stretched to afternoon snack time. Ate Maddie and Joel baked cookies, JP made pancakes, Kuya Allan brought adobo, Anna and I picked up the orange chicken and the chopsuey from the Chinese restaurant in town, and Mommy prepared lugaw. Kuya Rico was in charge of the grill.
With three four kids in the house, it was rowdy and fun... especially when we brought them to the park. Gabriel was curiously observing his cousins but was not interacting very much with them just yet.
After the meal prep, the actual meal, and the walk in the park, the family went back in the house for videoke (after all, the family party is not complete without it). JP and Biboy also played some live music to warm people up.
But things escalated quickly...
Yep, that's how my family in California like to party at home! I'm looking forward to these gatherings because it's fun to see the children grow up. I guess our grandparents, aunts, and uncles were like that when we were kids too.
