The food calendar was kinda fast...
We were watching the Dick Clark New Year's Eve special when Ate Gigi realised that she had tikoy (nian gao), a cake made from glutinous rice. She dipped it in egg and fried it until crispy on the outside.
As she started serving the fried tikoy around midnight, I got confused... should I say "Happy New Year" or "Kung Hei Fat Choi"?
After all, we typically eat tikoy during the Chinese New Year.
