Down the Rabbit Hole

Rating: ★★★ Category: Movies Genre: Action & Adventure A feel-good Russell Crowe-Ridley Scott collaboration, more along the lines of A Good Year (2006) than of Gladiator (2000). I had fun watching the film because I liked how Robin Hood's legend was given an origin (no matter how far-fetched it could be) and because I had the good fortune of exploring Nottingham CBD for two hours (where everywhere in the city centre I turned I could see a trace of his legend).

Ate Maddie and I joined the Neutrogena Chase the Sun 3k run category on May 16. I still wonder how I managed to get myself on my toes for this one, especially since I was so exhausted from the Lucban road, food, and photowalk trip less than 24 hours before. This race is our third 3k and our first non-charity run. The format of the race is similar to the RUNew event and the relaxed atmosphere reminded me of the PGH run. However, the main difference was in the goody bag (aka the finisher's kit). The organisers went all out (at least in my opinion, after only three races) with the contents. My pack contained a race singlet (which is quite anti-climactic), a finisher's shirt, Ben-gay cream (for the muscle ache), Neutrogena facial cleanser, Modess pads, and J&J products (baby powder, body wash, and bath soap). Ana, Crystal, Kuya Ferdie, and Fe stayed together at a safe corner of Quezon Avenue to watch. I, on the other hand, got swiped by a carabao's tail before the parade and almost got kicked by an irritated carabao during the parade. It didn't take 10 minutes for me to get separated from them as I predicted. I enjoyed the walk, and seeing the procession. It looked more like a parade to me than a procession, though. With so many tourists interrupting the line, it's quite easy to forget that Pahiyas is a religious occasion. Even the statue of St. Isidore is small (at least the one that I saw). It was a long (with lots of photo ops) and colourful parade; something to look forward to next year. =)
